As our society is approaching a turning point in many issues, the Catholic Church’s opposition on same-sex marriage does not change. The Catholic Church views the sacrament of matrimony as unitive and procreative process. God has created marriage and sexuality as gifts to mankind. The understanding of marriage is between a baptized man and woman through which God’s grace flows to the couple and their children. This visible sign of grace from God gives the couples help toward their lives and also to be able to join with him in eternal life. Although marriage can be seen as a social event, it also consists of several religious aspects as well. For Catholics, the sacrament of matrimony is a holy vocation between a male and female. Accepting same-sex couples to get married defeats the purpose of matrimony as a sacred sacrament of the church. God’s laws on marriage consist of a conjugal act only between man and woman. Anything outside of the idea is considered immoral or unjust.......
