Metamorphosis Interpretation
“The Metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka is the tale of Gregor Samsa. He is an ordinary man whose profession as a traveling salesman supports his family. He is a man who puts his family before himself. In addition, Gregor is a man whose intrusion on his father’s place as breadwinner leads to his death.
Gregor wakes up one morning as a giant bug. Though his whole family is concerned, his father shows particular aggression against him. Don't you think a loving father show a little bit of support for his son’s metamorphosis? When his Gregor’s transformation was revealed to his father, his father beat him back to his room with a stick “At every moment he was threatened by a fatal blow on the back or head from the stick in his father’s hand” (Kafka, 22). He was not understanding of Gregor’s strife and nor did he even caring that his son. He cares for the safety of the rest of his family but not the safety and livelihood of his only son. Mr.......
