Army Values: Respect
The definition of respect is ‘to feel or show deferential regard for; esteem’. Though most commonly referring to interpersonal relationships, it can be used between animals, groups and institutions including countries. Respect does not necessarily imply deference, but a respectful attitude rules out unconsidered selfish behavior. We commonly use the term ‘respect’ among our superiors, peers and subordinates, but there is a good example below showing that it can be also used to enemies.
There were ample amount wars consistently between China continent and Korea peninsula about 1,400 years ago.
