Sex, Gender, Race

While differences based off class, race-ethnicity, and gender can be looked at when one has developed his set of beliefs, to understand how one develops his views, it's best to view the upbringing. Beliefs are heavily influenced by sexuality, country, regional culuture, and age. Personally I have never taken a step back an analyzed my own influences biases in my everyday life. I believe the most important places I learned my views of class, race-ethnicity, and gender was in my home growing up and the school in which I was institutionalized. My experiences with each define my biases.

Class is a category that I had never really thought of until I was old enough to understand. As a child living in the South from what I can remember, I was always pretty comfortable. I lived in a family of 5 children and non-divorced parents. My biggest problem convincing my mom to let me watch more than 1 hour of TV a day. As a result, I grew up thinking I was high class.
