Servant Leadership
I would like to begin my discussion on servant leadership by introducing couple of statements made by two distinguished leaders in the world. Indira Ghandi stated,
“My grandfather once told me that there were two kinds of people: those who do the work and those who take the credit. He told me to try to be in the first group; there was much less competition”
Theodore Roosevelt said, “Keep your eyes on stars and your feet on the ground”.
I believe these two statements strongly portray a character of a servant leader; a leader who strives to achieve goals by using collaboration and humility. In fact, servant leaders have no intention to shine as a lone star, but to act with a sense of purpose for the betterment of the community or the organization as a whole. Servant leaders dedicate themselves to serve the needs of their followers by staying focused and creating vision and infusing selflessness into the followers to rally......
