The relationship between these two similarly different passages is almost nonexistent. The hard-lined disparities and full-on tone of each paragraph give clear opinions about the Galapagos Islands from the authors’ respective experiences there. The clearly pessimistic first passage finds various ways to insert negative adjectives and connotations about the islands on almost every line. On the other hand, the optimistic second passage finds the islands fully open to description and comparison. The wide distinctions between the two will reveal themselves subjective to the appearance and atmosphere of the Galapagos Islands and their overall respect for them.
