Stress In The Work Place

Stress is defined as a specific response by the body to a stimulus, which disturbs or interferes with the normal physiological stability of a human. Stress in the workplace is caused by many factors, whether it be internal or external factors. Internal stress is stress you can prevent or eliminate and external stress is stuff you can not control. Some examples of internal factors are as simple as being late for work because you didn’t wake up early enough or waiting till the last minute to finish that important project. Some examples of external stress are; loss of a family member, getting laid off, or being late because you got stuck by a train. No matter what kind of stress you experience you can deal with it in a positive manner. If you let the stress get to you and you let it control your life you can end up with serious health problems, like high blood pressure, a bad heart, and/or develop a substance abuse problem.
