Claudius

Claudius Nero Germanicus was born on August 1st, 10 BC at Lugdunum in Gaul, into the heart of the Julio-Claudian dynasty. He was well connected to the government, and practically a prince because of his heritance. However, Claudius was born with slight challenges. He was known to limp, drool, and stutter. He was sickly and dull as well. This being the case, his family was quite embarrassed of him and tried their hardest to keep him out of the public’s eye. He was the heart of cruel jokes made by his nephew, his grandmother, and even his mother. Secluded and alone, it is no wonder Claudius kept to his books, becoming well educated in the fields of history and governmental institutions. He was even the last person known who could read Etruscan.
