Many of our animals today are becoming extinct or endangered at an alarming rate, which has not occurred since their beginnings. I will cover various aspects of extinct and endangered species including definitions, the protection programs. Next I will present information on one endangered specie, the Asian elephant.

Ecologists and Biologists both believe that monitoring and maintenance of our environment and our many species is essential for a healthy world, present and future, as well as, a long-term economic well being for man.
