Religious Freedom In America

Since the foundation of this country, the United State of America has proudly proclaimed in the First Amendment, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” Freedom of religion has been a basic foundation for this entire country. This new land was sought after and formed primarily so everyone could practice his or her various religions freely without persecution. Accommodations were made for the people through the creation of the United States Constitution and the Amendments.
When this new freedom was established by the fore fathers of America, our founding fathers were only considering the few faiths which were gathered for the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Just to name a few, there were Christians and Protestants, and Episcopalian/Anglican. These men were not considering other religious around the world, such as Muslim; because they were ignorant those faiths even existed. The founding......
