Sexuality is a tremendous conflict in society. Depending on one’s sexual orientation, others may view the person as strong, feeble, or inferior. Men and women have been the reasoning behind many decisions regarding equality. Men tend to have more authority and more advantages than women. While women are viewed as servants and vulnerable, they have been able to achieve a higher standard than before. In the week’s assignments the movie Paulina and the book Lieutenant Nun both have the issue of male domination.
In Lieutenant Nun by Catalina de Erauso is about her experience of her conversion from being a nun to being a man. She cuts her hair short and dresses up like a man and starts her adventures as a man. She does everything in her power to survive from taking jobs, to gambling, to killing people.
