Abstract:
One of the greatest changes influencing people in the twenty-first century is the growing threat of global warming. Global warming is the escalating of the Earth’s natural greenhouse effect increasing air temperatures due to a build up of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere as a result of anthropogenic activity. (Christopherson, Byrne) The 2001 IPCC Third Assessment Report, using General Circulation Model forecasting, predicted warming trend averages for the 21st century of a high of 5.8°C, a middle of 3.6°C, and a low of 1.4°C. (IPCC Third Assessment Report). The phenomenon of a warming climate due to anthropogenic causes is changing our society and altering people’s everyday lives.
