Cohabitation, Joyful Or Harmful?

Cohabitation has become a trend around the world that many couple will do before getting married. In some European countries, cohabitation is even replacing the idea of marriage which a pair of lovers will just live together as a “couple”. According to “The Perils of Playing House” by Nacy Wartik, more than 50 percent of couples who marry today have lived together beforehand. The author also claims that cohabitation is a controversial issue in which living together before marriage will turn out breaking up or getting a divorce in most cases. Relationship is the process of understanding among two individuals. Cohabitation is a booster of this process since they will get closer together when they live under the same roof. In reality, not every couple can handle this “booster” in their relationship and it’s understandable that Wartik has such an interpretation.
