In life we as African American has struggled with racism and discrimination for a long time, and this is struggle is still ongoing. We have tried to prove ourselves as worthy individuals (indeed we are), but others do not see as upstanding worthy individuals. African Americans have jumped through many obstacles and climb many mountains that we are still not taken seriously. Until the 1900s we as African Americans had no one to turn to until the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) was founded in 1909 that is devoted to civil rights and racial justice. It is an interracial membership organization. This organization is helpful in strengthening our beliefs in the justice system, because we have been failed for so long. This organization has also been instrumental in improving the legal, educational, and economic lives of African Americans.
