A Free Society -Idealistic Or Realisitic?

Around two centuries ago, our founding fathers sought to create a free nation, where the fear of prosecution due to unpopular belief would not exist. Today, people from near and far envy the fruits of their hard work. Old Glory, fluttering in the wind, proudly stands as a symbol of peace, unity and opportunity, and represents our nation as a place where “all men are created equal” and no one judged based on their opinion.
Now, let’s deter from this idealistic view and step down to reality. Let’s face it; no country exists on earth where humans experience the true meaning of the word “free society”. Although the consequences might differ from country to country, from city to city, from developed to developing, one statement stands true for all these areas. The presence of man plagues these societies: and where man dwells, a free society does not.
