Lady Mcbeth

Lady Macbeth is Macbeth’s wife. She fulfills her role among the nobility and is well respected like Macbeth. She is admired by others. King Duncan refers to her as “our honored hostess”. She is loving to her husband but at the same time she is very ambitious. Macbeth tells his wife of the witches’ prophecy that he is to become king. Lady Macbeth decides that the fastest way for Macbeth to become king is by murdering King Duncan, so she persuades him to do it so he can achieve his destiny. The death of King Duncan will benefit her and her husband equally.
When Lady Macbeth is telling herself that she can murder the king, she cries out, “Come you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here and fill me from the crown to the toe top-full of direst cruelty.” She wants the fates to “unsex” her so that she may get rid of her feminine qualities, such as remorse and kindness. She wants to be cruel and coldblooded so that she can carry out the plot......
