The English Civil War was a very important historical event. This particular war changed many things in the 1600’s. In fact, the results to the Civil War has helped build up to the way things are between Parliament and the King/Queen these days.
This war began in the 1640’s (1642-1648), but what caused this war was mainly King Charles I. He was arrogant, selfish and very stingy. He was a really bad King because he didn’t know how to make people happy; which meant that he couldn’t keep England happy. He didn’t even know how to deal with the issues that could affect his job. And all of these bad qualities in him lead to the English Civil War.
It all began when Charles I had locked the Mp’s out of parliament for 11 years! He said that he no longer required them to bring money for him.
