The now autonomous countries, which at one point were a part of Yugoslavia, ranged anywhere from one to nine. These factions have been a part of much war and turmoil of the region for many years, much of what still exists today. The bitterness of the region has resulted in the slow dissolution of Yugoslavia into smaller more ethnic centered countries. The breakup of Yugoslavia has led to different forms of government and different forms of economies throughout the region. These economies have resulted in varying standards of living, some comparable to the third world and others to the first world.
