Living in a mediated environment in the 21st century is very different from the past few years. Before, the media were just available only to those who could afford it, but nowadays the media seems to be available to everyone though of different levels. It became inescapable and is now a necessity to each and every individual. People became media literate and it became a part and or a basis of being an educated individual. The global economy is increasingly based on the exchange of information, and communities and identities mirror popular cultures from popular music to mediated sport. Thus, being media literate is an essential tool in making a stand in this society today.
