Proactive Tactics There are many proactive tactics that are used in policing today. These tactics are used to deploy criminals and criminal activities. Uniformed tactical operations have two different types: 1) Aggressive patrol, this is stopping many cars and people in an attempt to find evidence that may havebeen committed in a crime or committed a crime. Field interrogations can be very effective in reducing crime, but often causes problems with the community saying citizens rights have been abused. 2) Saturation patrol, this is a large number of officers then normal assigned to a certine area to deal with a particular crime problem in an area. There is mixed feelings about this tactic that is used. Some feel it works others feel it does not. In my own opinion this would not be a very effective tactic to use, or it would not be the first tactic I would use. This can cause descrepincey with in the public I would think.
