Introduction:
To introduce the role of women students will read The Role of Women on pages 77 -78 from their textbook independently. Followed by discussing the reading and asking questions.
Lesson Body:

1. Treated the best in the world; had many rights that women
2. Rights that Egyptian women enjoyed:
- right to divorce
- right to become a pharaoh
- right to own their own property
- right to sign contracts
3. Daily Life
- Women spent their time making clothes, food and other essentials
- Everything was to be made inside the house
- Part of the role of a women was to be a good wife and bare children
4. Marriage:
- married for love not civic duty
- contracts were signed
- Marriages were monogamous
- People married within their social class
- Men and women retained separate ownership of any property they brought into the marriage.
