DECISION SITUATION

Blair Company Inc. specializes in the water purification market and has experienced rapid growth over the past few decades. Its product line is generally regarded as superior in terms of price and quality, with its prices typically higher than most competitors.
In 1990, Blair released their home water filters, which qualified as the first product they had ever directed specifically at consumer households. Soon after this release, the home water filters were introduced at an extremely successful rate into many less developed countries (LDC’s). The low level of water quality in many LDC’s caused Blair to develop a water purifier to add to their line, which they named Delight.
