Whenever Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Source players come into contact there is this inevitable clash, and two schools of thought emerge. CS as the better game and CS: Source as the future. After nearly four years the graphical edge that CS: Source relied so heavily upon is beginning to fade to new comers like Call of Duty 4. ESWC has announced CS as an official tournament game, and the question that's begging to be answered is "Why not CS: Source?". Next year CS: Source will be five years down the line, and most players figured it would be dominating the scene by now but its clear there is still a thriving CS community, at least one strong enough for the old international organisations like ESWC to continue pandering to. So why isn't CS: Source the shining star its supposed to be?
