John Michael Talbot the Lessons of Saint Francis

Franciscan lived in the holy sprit. They would blame themselves and there beliefs rather than worry about what others thought. Francis was not always in the ways of god, he had problems finding god. He experienced sin first hand and worked to find his way in god’s way of life. The first lesson was Simplicity. Francis showed his simplicity in the way he dressed. His robes were old and worn, and instead of getting new robes he would patch his old robes. He believed that simply was viewed as being poor. Poverty prepares us for the house of god. Francis had an equity based model. He thought that humans had needs, food, clothing, and shelter. He felt that a life filled with wants and needs was a life of unhappiness. The second lesson was Joy.
