The western countries of the World generally place human rights above of national sovereignty, as the single human being holds the future and existence of the country. On the contrary, many countries in the world continually struggle with the advancement of human rights, countries such as Uganda in Africa, and Uzbekistan of the Near East. Despite the advancements made in several places around the world, these two countries still face heavy criticism regarding the treatment and growth, or lack thereof, of human rights.
Uganda is a sovereign nation located on the continent of Africa. Officially known as the Republic of Uganda, this country is bordered by Kenya, Sudan, the Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, and Rwanda. Although this republic is over forty-six years old, gaining independence from Great Britain, continually, the struggles of torture and child labor still exist.
