From many people's point of views, they believe that media as a
whole does have an effect on teenagers. But it is not a fact that
music, videos or tv actually influence teens to do anything.
Regardless to what teens hear or see, their going to have sex, do
drugs, or join gangs because they want to. The urban community
does not revolve around music. The lyrics to someone's song is just
what that person went through in their life and their just telling their
story. How teens react to it, cannot be blamed on the artists. Some
teens say media does influence them to have sex. Teens who said
they listened to lots of music with degrading sexual messages were
almost twice as likely to start having intercourse or other sexual
activities within the following two years, as were teens who listened to
little or no sexually degrading music.
