Question: ‘Explore the dramatic impact and significance of Act 2 Scene 2 within the context of the whole play’.

Introduction
Macbeth is one of the best known plays written by William Shakespeare. Like many other plays by Shakespeare, Macbeth is based on true events and it is his shortest tragedy. His plot was loosely drown from the historical accounts of King Macbeth of Scotland by Raphael. With this play there are or were many superstitions centered on the belief the play is somehow "cursed". Some actors will not mention the name of the play aloud, referring to it instead as "The Scottish play".

The Elizabethan period is associated with Queen Elizabeth 1’s reign (1558-1603) and it was the height of the Elizabeth renaissance which saw the high point of English poetry and literature. In this time the Elizabeth Theatre flourished and William Shakespeare among others composed plays that broke free of England's past style of plays and theatre.......
