Christainity's Impact On Philosophy
Christian philosophy is a term to describe the fusion of various
fields of philosophy with the theological doctrines of Christianity.
Christian philosophy originated during the middle ages as medival theologians
attempted to demonstrate the religious authorities that Greek Philosophy and
Christian faith were compatible methods for arriving at divine truth.
Augustine of Hippo viewed philosophy favorable. His belief was there was no
reason why Christian should not adopt good things of philosophy and use them
in their christian walk and was a key contributor and impact of Christianity’s
Philosophy. Augustine depended on the teachings of Plato and Plotinus.
Clement of Alexandria asserted that God gave philosophy to the Greek’s in preparation for the coming of Christ.
Plotinus, the greatest philosopher of Neo-platonism, believed that God is above
