Extended Essay Gautam Rayaprolu Abstract This essay was written with the idea of studying the physics of damping vibrations using a guitar. The idea was to use my interests as a springboard to study an interesting Physical Phenomenon. It is a stable professional apparatus which contains vibrating strings. I chose to use the guitar in order to study this phenomenon also because it allows easy manipulation of certain variables such as length and Tension. My essay is composed of two major analytical parts; the first one consists of the Quantitative analysis of Data that I have collected from my experimentation and the second contains a theoretical analysis of the question that I have posed. I have also included the methodology for my experimentation and a brief conclusion.
