The purpose of this paper is to explain critical thinking. This paper will also include the importance and benefits of one’s critical thinking ability. It will describe a detailed experience that benefited from critical thinking and its outcomes. The conclusion describes the traits of a critical thinker and the importance of it.

Critical thinking is the ability to think clearly and rationally. It includes the ability to engage in reflective and independent thinking. Critical thinking is purposeful, self-regulatory judgment which results in interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference, as well as explanation of the evidential, conceptual, methodological, criteriological, or contextual considerations upon which that judgment is based (Facione, 1990).
