: The groups were divided into 3 groups based on there FES cohesion scores. Group1 received low cohesion, group 2 moderate cohesion and group3 high cohesion. A one way ANOVA was conducted on ATQ scores. Showing that group 1
has the highest negative thoughts (68.41), while group 2 with less negative thoughts (56.29) and group 3 with the least negative thoughts (48.66).
Again the students were divided into 3 groups according to FES control. Group 1 received low control, group 2 received moderate control and group 3 received high control. The ANOVA conducted on ATQ scores showed no significant differences among the 3 groups.

Discussion and practical implications: This study has showed that adolescents which perceived high family cohesion, have less negative thoughts to those who perceived low family cohesion due to less supportiveness of family members to each other. In this study, control showed no significant difference associated with adolescents negative thoughts.
