Abstract
Nanotechnology, a disruptive technology phenomenon is regarded as one of the key technologies of the future and associated with high expectation by science, economy and society. Artificially produced nanosized particles and nanoscale system components have new properties which are of importance for the development of new products and applications in different areas as diverse as materials and manufacturing, nanoelectronics, medicine and healthcare, environment, energy, chemicals, biotechnology, agriculture, information technology, transportation, and national security. Developments in these emerging fields are likely to change fundamentally the existing technology base as well as generating new technologies......
