Based on the four step model, I will implement an improvement in the flow of patients from the emergency room of a hospital to the admittance in a ward. In this case study, we will assume the driver/patient is a 73 years old female, and has just arrived by ambulance into the emergency room after a car accident which resulted in some fractures. An ER uses a system of triage that enables the hospital to treat the most critically or seriously injured first. Considering that this patient is 73 years of age she would have priority in being treated because there could be several underlying factors in caring for this patient. Prior to ambulance arrival notify an attending physician to order test and x-ray on the expecting arrival. Considering the patient’s age certain test are mandatory and a no brainer. If the patient is coherent, we would have the patient state the main problem first, then describe all the symptoms and events that led to the ER visit. After receiving the course......
