Legalize It Marijuana use for medicinal and recreational purposes has taken place in many countries worldwide, the earliest use dates back to 2700 BC in Chinese writings. Since then, it was used and even sold over the counter at pharmacies in The United States through the 17th century. Marijuana was first criminalized in 1906 and the use of it for medicinal purposes was rediscovered by recreational smokers with severe illnesses who realized it alleviated their pain. From that discovery scientists began to study marijuana’s health effects; to this day the legalization for medicinal and recreational use is at the center of debate, and also the subject of numerous laws and court cases on the local and supreme level. The medicinal use of marijuana has sparked many court cases throughout The United States and more people are becoming aware of its benefits for diseases, to include glaucoma, AIDS, and many other illnesses.
