Swiss-based private equity partnership Flacon Equity have restated their interest in buying Chelsea from Roman Abramovich, but insisted there will be no hostile takeover of the Premier League club.

Falcon's investment manager, Holger Heims, told Reuters that he is one of a group of eight investors from across Europe, the Middle East and Asia that are considering approaching Russian billionaire Abramovich with a takeover offer.
However, Heims insisted that so far there has been no formal approach or talks with Abramovich, and added that: "We have no intention of launching a hostile takeover. This is only possible as a friendly deal."
Chelsea have denied reports that Abramovich has lost interest in football and is ready to relinquish control of the club his financial power has revitalised since taking over in 2003.
