Introduction
• Company background
easyJet was the first low-cost carriers in Europe, establishing in November 1995 by Stelios. It was started with two leased aircrafts and young staffs who served as reservation agents. Stelios selected Luton Airport instead of Heathrow and Gatwick because labor cost and airport fees are lower. The first flight from London to Glasgow with a one-way fare of 29GBP was successful. Two years later, Stelios financed in debt and equity to expand a fleet and routes in Europe. Although, Easy Jet borrowed business model from Southwest Airline, Stelios initiated his own concepts which were avoiding travel agent, flying brand new Boeing 737s and every refreshment would be on sales.
