Although Deng Xiaoping was born during a turbulent time in China, this did not stop him from traveling abroad, as a young man, to France and Moscow to learn, at that time he joined the communist party. After Deng’s return to china, Deng Xiaoping quickly rose in ranks in the party. He proposed and influenced policy well to greatly better China. Though Deng Xiaoping encountered much opposition, he enforced reforms that greatly changed the face of China in the 1950s to the 1980s helping China’s economy and the quality of living of the people. Deng’s time in France may be seen in two sections. Part one is where Deng is to young to be doing anything of importance, so Deng diligently studies and attends school. He also worked a few manual labor jobs such as an armaments factory and a rubber goods factory. During the first four years in France Deng was not very productive.
