Bombardier Transportation (BT), one of the world's largest manufacturers of passenger rail cars, has successfully negotiated the purchase of Adtranz, a large European manufacturer of rail equipment. The newly appointed chief executive officer, Pierre Lortie faces many challenges including decisions about the pace of integration, organization structure, location of headquarters, and employment retention
 Situation analysis
From my point of view, the acquisition is a win-win solution for both sides. By combining advantages from each company, the new BT is a global player with a complete and competitive product portfolio in many aspects.
At the beginning of the post-acquisition period; I suggest the new BT have at least two headquarters. Keep the original one in Quebec, Canada and also keep the original headquarter of Adtranz in Berlin, Germany.
