William Golding’s novel The Lord of the Flies is a very eye opening book. It shows you the true inner desires of evil and how they can change a person. It takes place during World War II on an uninhabited island. Themes of savagery and control in William Golding’s Lord of the Flies are revealed through the events of the plot and the characters’ thoughts words and actions.
The boys slowly changed as there civilization they left behind became lost within themselves. Golding shows that in the beginning the boys remembered the rules in there old society. In the book Roger throws rocks at Henry, but aims to miss not to hit. (Golding 62) Clearly Roger still has some kind of sense of his old civilization where he had the protection of parents and rules to guide him. The once guided boys became lost in there new society.
