Hipaa Privacy Guidelines

“HIPAA Privacy Rule” has many different requirements within the policies. Included in some of these is how HIPAA affects the patient’s access to their own medical records. There are also circumstances in which personal health information can be used for reasons other than health care. HIPAA also requires entities to have written policies available for the “HIPAA Privacy Rule”. In addition there are requirements to ensure that medical offices or entities have proper procedures in place to train employees regarding the privacy policies The entity must also ensure that employees follow the privacy policies. All of these guidelines are put in place to assist in making sure that the privacy policies are followed to protect the patient.
