Globalization is defined as the process by which everyday life around the world is marked by standardization of communication, transportation, mass migration, economic activity, ecological, and societal Interdependence (Britannica). Globalization analysis exposes both positive and negative effects for countries and the businesses of the world.
Globalization seems to produce different results in different countries. Globalization advocates such as Jeffrey Sachs point to the above average drop in poverty rates in countries, such as China, where globalization has taken a strong foothold, compared to areas unaffected by globalization, such as Sub-Saharan Africa, where poverty rates have remained stagnant (Sachs). Supporters of free trade claim that it increases economic prosperity as well as opportunity, especially among developing nations, enhances civil liberties and leads to a more efficient allocation of resources.
