Quality
The word quality is sometimes used to define the goal of producing error free systems that meet user requirements with minimum effort. Consequently quality assurance mechanisms are introduced into the development process to ensure that there are no deviations from requirements as development proceeds. Quality assurance mechanisms check the process at its various stages to ensure that requirement are not lost or changed during the process and that errors are minimised. It is important to know that quality in organisations requires quality assurance to be an integral part of information system development. Quality assurance is not something that goes on separate from the development process. On the contrary, the development process must include checks throughout the process to ensure that the final product meets the original user requirements. Quality assurance thus becomes an important component of the development process.
