Internship
The Gear-Up program takes place Monday through Friday from July 9-August 3 2001. We work hard to provide students with four weeks filled with fun, exciting and interesting activities while exploring New York City. We go on trips every Friday and occasionally on Wednesday. We went to New York' Ellis Island to learn more about the migration of immigrants through Ellis Island, we walk over the Brooklyn Bridge, sample tasty delights on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in neighborhoods such as Chinatown and Little Italy, explore museums and the financial district of NYC. In the last week we will see a 3-D movie at Sony Imax Theater and spend the afternoon at Central Park. The purpose of this program is to help students make the transition from Junior High to High School. We do everything in our power to make these four weeks very exciting and fun for the students. At the end of the program each student who participated will receive a Century 21 certificate.
