HELPING OTHERS REWARDS YOU
As a citizen of the United States I feel it is my duty to serve my community. I know that sometimes people don't realize it, but when you help someone you are in a way helping yourself. All the good that you may do unto others will always reflect upon you. No one knows when or how they are going to need the help of someone.
When I was ten years old, I began to help an elderly lady with her groceries. Every Saturday I would help her carry the groceries home. She would always want to pay me, but I always refused to accept it. It was no trouble for me, I really enjoyed helping her. The main reason was that she reminded me of my grandmother who resides in the Dominican Republic. I wouldn't want my grandmother lifting heavy groceries, and I don't think people should accept money for such help.
Many years have passed, and I still make time to help the lady whenever I can. When you do something for someone else, it feels good. I often think about......
