Thesis:
Sojourner Truth fought for civil rights using her wit and powerful voice to inspire slaves and women which is still heard today.
I. Sojourner Truth once said "If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down all alone, these women together ought to be able to turn it back and get it right-side up again. And now that they are asking to do it, the men better let them" (Duane 1). Sojourner Truth is a very strong woman from her speeches down to her big heart. She influenced a tremendous amount of women in society and people still call upon her speeches and proclamations today. Not only did she reach out to black women, but more or less all women in general. Many people, white and black men and women, have heard Sojourner Truth's speeches and stories. They may not have been influenced by them, but somehow they have reached out to people to, at least, think about women and the respect that they deserve.......
