Thereare many poems that are considered to be companion poems. Companion poems are two separate poems thatare similar. Usually they are about thesame experience or experiences, and are also usually written in the sameform. Two of the most famous companionpoems are "The Passionate Shepherd to His Love" by Christopher Marlowe, and"The Nymph's Reply to the Shepherd" by Sir Walter Raleigh. These two poems areperfect companions.
Both"The Passionate Shepherd to His Love" and "The Nymph's Reply to the Shepherd."Are both written in iambic quatrameter. Both of the poems also consist of 24 lines. Another similarity in the style is that both poems are writtenwith an AABB rhyme scheme. By doingthis the writers easily show that the poems belong together.
