History of Olympics



The Olympic games originated in ancient Greece they were held from 776 B.C to A.D 393. The modern games started in 1896. The organizers revived the games to encourage world peace, friendship and to promote healthy sporting competition for the youth of the world. The Olympic games consist of summer and winter games, and are held every four years.
Colorful ceremonies and thrilling athletic events give the specialty to the Olympics. The opening events are always particularly impressive. The Olympic athletes of Greece march into the stadium first, in honor of the original games held in ancient Greece. The most dramatic moment of the opening is the lighting of the Olympic torch.
