Deviant
Abuse within the family has been going on for hundreds of years. A long time ago, abuse was not looked at like such a bad thing. Women were supposed to obey their husbands without any questions asked. Today abuse is very common still although society now knows that it is wrong and not acceptable.
Women and children are abused every day. Statistically, one out of four women will be abused by a partner at least once in their lives. Men who abuse their wife are more likely to abuse their children.
There are many reasons why people are abused but research cannot pinpoint one concrete reason such as there is a bad gene in the body. People believe that alcohol plays a big role because in almost half of abuse cases there is alcohol involved. Stress is another factor that may play a huge part in it. Every social class has some form of stress and it is not exclusively for the poor or the wealthy. It is an epidemic on the rise and needs to be stopped.
