THE ENDING OF PRINCESS BRIDE
Goldman thought the story ended in a happy way, after all it’s a fairytale. The truth is, his father was falsifying. He thought that the four escapers from the castle got away from the brute squad and especially from Humperdink. Goldman spent his childhood thinking it ended that way. He actually had doubts, question like “was the pirate ship waiting or just a rumor” (pg. 282 line: 9).
The truth was Morgenstern’s ending a “Lady or the Tiger” type of effect. Basically it ended tragically. Humperdink was chasing them, and the four escapers thought had the lead because they we’re riding the four white horses. On their way to their freedom, stuff happens: 1. Inigo’s wound reopened. 2.Westley relapsed again. 3.Fezzik took a wrong turn. 4. Buttercup’s house threw a shoe. Morgenstern is a satirist and Goldman’s father just ended it in a different way.
