The Defense Information Systems Agency is a combat support agency that is responsible for planning, engineering, acquiring, fielding, and supporting global net centric solutions to serve the needs of the President, Vice President, the Secretary of Defense, and other Department of Defense components, under all conditions of peace and war. The Defense Information Systems Agency performs a number of very important missions in support of the President, the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Combatant Commanders, and the other Department of Defense (DOD) components under all conditions of peace and war.
